I oppose the Death Penalty for capital crimes because I respect life and feel the option of life imprisonment protects society. Minimally, there should be an exemption from the death pentally for severe mental illness since Idaho does not have an insanity defense.
I support restorative justice.
Interest Rate Reduction for College Grads
I support Senator Elizabeth Warren's legislation to limit the interest rate on money borrowed by students for their higher education. We had our daughters late in life and have tried to help them by taking on some of their student loan debt. These loans affect our ability to save for retirement. Our daughters are paying loans also and this debt cannot be discharged through bankruptcy if their financial circumstances change dramatically.
Health Care Reform
Our family has benefitted from being able to keep our youngest daughter insured under our policy during nursing school. Also as a cancer survivor I benefit from preexisting conditions being lifted.
Idaho Medicaid Expansion
